1) Objectives of the area or areas involved.

This unit is designed for 6th grade of Primary Education. It belongs to the Area of Natural Sciences.

With this unit we want to achieve the following aims:

1. Make science fun.

2. Encourage curiosity towards experimentation.

3. Learn important facts about the Earth and the Volcanoes.

4. Be aware that certain blends of some substances can provoque different reactions.

It is intended to be a very practical unit and especially focused on experimentation. The students will lead their own learning with the help of the teacher. They will have to research and increase their knowledge by themselves with the resources given in the webquest.

Team work and Oral presentation are two important parts of the unit.

This unit will be developed in 6 sessions.
