Teaching Guide

Objectives of the Natural Sience area:

- Learn using English language in listening, reading, speaking and writing.

- Know the Solar System and its elements and the main characteristics of all of them.

- Use information and comunication technologies in learning.

- Prepare an oral exposition.

- Learn and work in a team.

2) Contents.

Contents:

- Learning in English:

  • Listening.
  • Reading.
  • Speaking.
  • Writing.

- The Solar System and its elements:

  • The Sun.
  • The Moon.
  • Planets.
  • Asteroid belt.
  • Comets.

- Use of information and comunication techologies to:

  • Look for information.
  • Elaborate a Word document.
  • Send an email.

- Preparation of an oral exposition.

- Teamwork learning.

3) Temporal distribution provided.

3 classes of duration

4) Prior knowledge that students should have.

Previuos knowledge:

  • Star, planet, satellite.
  • Name of planets.
  • Rotation and revolution movements.
  • How to work with Word.
  • use of email to send information.

5) Material provided (computers, software, pencils, etc.).

Materials:

  • Computer with Internet connection.
  • Microsoft Word Program.
  • Email account.
  • Notebook to take notes.

6) Organization of space (for both computer work and for discussions, creating murals, recordings, essays, etc.).

Each pair of students has their own computer to work.

7) The better organization of working groups.

Pairs.

8) Additional resources for teachers (tools, utilities, documents, books, etc.).

All the resouces are given.

9) Whether or not to have the support of other teachers.

No more help is required.

10) Involvement of different areas.

Natural Science, Social Science, English language.
