THE NATURE OF LANGUAGE AND LINGUISTICS

INGLES BACHILLERATO

INTRODUCTION

The current document gives an approach to the scientific analysis of human language as a whole system which people use to communicate their feelings, thoughts and emotions. It is important to take into account that any language has grammar and it is necessary to study it and understand it, so that, it will be easier to learn and handle the different aspects involved in the construction of sentences, paragraphs, and so on.

The nature of human language and linguistics implies that every human faces the language from his/her childhood and improves it throughout life and it occurs spontaneously due to the speech repetition that children – especially babies – do while they are learning to speak. Language is creative, universal, and innate, and all of this happens at the same time. Another part that is to be studied and analyzed is the one that makes reference to the signs that are used when people communicate and whose study is taken up by linguistics.

At the end of this class, students will be able to understand and, why not, explain others the components of the nature of human language and linguistics.
